OSSIPEE, N.H. (AP) – A 76-year-old man was found dead, floating in Duncan Lake on Friday, authorities said.
Fish and Game Officer Mark Hensel identified the man as Charles Watkins of Dover. Hensel said a a medical referee will determine the cause of death, but it probably was due to natural causes.
Hensel said someone called the Carroll County sheriff’s office at 1:30 p.m. about an empty boat in the middle of the lake. Watkins body was found nearby.
Hensel said Watkins probably did not drown because his body was on the surface. There was no sign of foul play, indicating a possible medical problem, said Hensel.
