As a handicapped person who resides in Lewiston, I often have the need to access postal services. The U.S. Postal Service office on Ash Street in Lewiston has no handicapped access, therefore making it impossible for a vast majority of handicapped people to use it.
The federal government needs to install automatic doors and a ramp for people who cannot climb stairs in wheelchairs, or for people who have other disabilities as well. Just because the Postal Service is a branch of the federal government certainly does not put it above the Americans with Disabilities Act. It should be no different than any other business.
