BUCKFIELD – The wedding of Shelley Louise Donahue and Thomas Edward Zielinski was held at 1:30 p.m. on June 4 at the home of the bridegroom’s parents, Mike and Deirdre Newton. Pastor Eva Thomson officiated at the ceremony.
Mrs. Zielinski is the daughter of Sharon Bellavance and Scott Touchette of Leeds. Mr. Zielinski is the son of Mike and Deirdre Newton of Buckfield and Joseph Zielinski of Jacksonville, Fla.
The bride, given in marriage by her stepfather, wore a white strapless gown with embroidered lavender and sage flowers. She carried a bouquet of miniature carnations, white roses and baby’s breath.
Kristi Cottle, best friend of the bride, was maid of honor, and bridesmaids were Jodi Theriault, sister of the bridegroom, April Newton, sister-in-law of the bridegroom, and Tiffany Heath, Jennifer Piela-Judd and Jennifer White, all friends of the bride.
Nicholas Zielinski performed the duties of best man for his brother and ushers were Donnie Theriault, brother-in-law of the bridegroom, John Newton, brother of the bridegroom, and Tracey Ackley and Ron Heath, both friends of the bridegroom. Dylan Newton was the ring bearer and Peighton Theriault was the flower girl. They are niece and nephew of the couple.
A reception followed at the home of the bridegroom’s parents, after which the couple traveled to Aruba. They are residing in Buckfield.
The bride is a 2000 graduate of Leavitt Area High School and a 2004 graduate of the University of Maine at Augusta. She is currently employed at the W.T. Twarog Senior Enrichment Center in Auburn.
The bridegroom is a 1994 graduate of Buckfield High School and a 1998 graduate of Lyndon State College. He is currently employed at Simplex Grinnell in Portland.
