It seems some people will blame President Bush for anything. Now, he is blamed for the hurricane that devastated the Gulf Coast.
New Orleans was the hardest hit and the most vulnerable. From what I have seen on the news, the city officials all left town and the poorest of their citizens were left to fend for themselves. It seems there was no disaster plan in place to protect the city’s inhabitants, no plan to evacuate, no plan for protection in the event the worst happened.
Local government officials are the ones who should be held responsible for the lack of leadership in this city’s current situation.
We were asked to pray before the hurricane, during the hurricane and after the hurricane. Praying won’t bring water or sandwiches. Now everyone expects the government to make it all go away.
New Orleans is built in a sinkhole, below sea level. It was doomed and will be doomed again once it is rebuilt.
