FARMINGTON – Funding from the National Library of Medicine will enable Franklin Memorial Hospital to expand its medical library hours to Saturdays, beginning Sept. 10. A librarian will be available for assistance from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
The library, though primarily used by medical staff and hospital personnel, is also open to the public. The collection of journals, medical texts and consumer health materials are continually updated to make sure the information is accurate and reflects medical practice.
The public is invited to check out the library’s comprehensive collection of health and medical resources, including books, journals, pamphlets, videotapes, and online references. The staff is dedicated to helping visitors use the available resources to find answer to their health questions.
Public computer terminals with Internet access and health-related electronic resources are also available, as well as services such as literature searches, reference assistance, photocopying of books and journals and interlibrary loans.
The library is located in the Ben Franklin Center, next to the main reception desk. For more information, contact the librarian at 779-2554 or by e-mail at [email protected].
