Society speaker

DIXFIELD – The first fall meeting of the Dixfield Historical Society will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 15, in the Charter Meeting Room. Billie Gammon will return with “The Silly Story of Herself,” a program she has presented to many college students. Members are also reminded to return all summer raffle tickets, as the drawing will take place that night. Refreshments will be served, and the public is invited.

Story time

RUMFORD – Area youngsters ages 2 to 5 are invited to attend preschool story time at the Rumford Public Library. Story times are 10 a.m. Wednesdays beginning Sept. 14. Children who attend will have stories, songs and fingerplays, and make crafts when appropriate to the theme.

Story times will not be held during school vacations or in the event of SAD 43 school cancellations. Call the library at 364-3661 for more information.
