AUGUSTA – Old friends and ministry partners were reunited for a time of worship, celebration and fellowship at the Augusta Salvation Army recently.
It was the first time in over a year that the three inner city ministers have been able to get together.
Cadet James Downs is completing his second year at the Salvation Army School for Officer training with his wife, Patricia, and children, Samuel and Sarah, in Suffern, N.Y.
Salvation Army Capt. John Bennett was re-assigned with his wife, Margaret, from their post in Lewiston to a new assignment in the Augusta area.
Douglas Taylor remains working with his wife, Sonia, in Lewiston through the ministry of the Jesus Party Pentecostal Kids Church.
The trio worked extensively for a number of years in Lewiston/Auburn promoting Christian evangelism and creating services for inner-city youth. The ministers are hoping to meet again at Downs’ graduation from officers’ training school in mid-2006.
