BIDDEFORD – Danielle LaTerra scored a pair of goals and added an assist as the University of New England pounded Mt. Ida 5-1 in a non-conference soccer matchup Monday.

LaTerra tied the game in the 28th minute on a penalty kick after a hand ball was called in the defensive box, and then gave the Nor’easters the lead for good nine minutes later with an unassisted goal. Amanda Smith followed with a pair of goals for the Nor’easters (2-1), and Lindsay Rowbotham notched the first goal of her career in the 62nd minute to provide the rest of the scoring.

Jamie Hurd got Mt. Ida on the board with the first goal of the game after intercepting an errant defensive pass., but the Mustangs came up empty from there.

Erica Belanger stopped 10 shots for the Mustangs (0-3).
