TURNER – Charles James Parker, 82, of 67 Staples Road, Turner, died Tuesday, Sept. 13, at his home.

Born in Hebron Aug. 28, 1923, a son of Charles and Emma Keene Parker Sr., he was educated in Hebron schools.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a Home Baptist.

He loved being in the outdoors as a hunter and a fisherman. Red Sox baseball, homecooking (grama’s way), farming, and his dogs Miss Lily and Tinkerbell.

He enjoyed spending time with grandchildren, playing cards and telling a good story.

He will be remembered as a loving husband and father.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years, the former Evelyn M. Mason, of Turner, whom he married Aug. 2, 1956; five daughters, Beverly Webber of Hartford, Benita Miceli of Las Vegas, Nev., Barbara Lewis of Hartford, Brenda Parker of Turner, and Becky Knox and her husband, Michael, of East Livermore; seven sons, Lawrence (Buddy) Berry of MT, Robert Parker and wife, Charlotte, of South Paris, Russell Parker of Bethel, Erroll Parker of Oxford, Stanley Parker of New Jersey, Gard Parker of Georgia, and Charles James and Dolsie Parker Jr. of Sumner; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by a sister, Katherine Donahue.
