JAY – Rodrigo Silva scored a pair of goals as Telstar blanked Jay 2-0 in MVC boys’ soccer action on Wednesday.

The Rebels controlled the tempo of the game, outshooting the Tigers 13-3 in the game, and Silva scored a back-breaking goal one minute into the second half for his second tally.

Matt Roundy put in a solid effort between the pipes for the Tigers to keep Jay (1-4) in the game, stopping 11 shots. Steven Scotti made three saves for Telstar (3-2).

Hall-Dale 3, Livermore Falls 0

LIVERMORE FALLS- Paul Koneing stopped six shots for a shutout as Hall-Dale downed Livermore Falls, 3-0, in a boys’ soccer game on Wednesday.

Fernando Barrientos netted a pair of goals in the first half to pace the Bulldogs.

The two teams played a tight second half with few scoring chances until Oryan Lahti added an insurance goal late to close the scoring for Hall-Dale.

Derrick Neal had 14 saves for the Andies (0-2-1).

Rangeley 4, Buckfield 3

RANGELEY – Luke Hammond scored on a break-away goal to lift Rangeley to a 4-3 win in double overtime on Wednesday in boys’ soccer action.

Justin Bryant netted the first goal at 9:26 into the contest for Buckfield (1-2), which held onto a 1-0 lead late into the second half. Rangeley then scored three unanswered goals by Nels Christianson, Steven Vansoeren, and Hammond.

With 12 minutes to go, as Rangeley (2-1) played with one man down due to a red-card, Chad Allen and Steve Abbott each scored for the Bucks to tie the game at 3-3, before Hammond scored his tie-breaking goal in the second overtime.

Monmouth 2, Carrabec 1

NORTH ANSON-Devin Bobbins scored the game-winning goal with 8:07 to play in the first half as Monmouth edged Carrabec, 3-2, in boys’ soccer on Wednesday.

Sam Shaw opened the scoring with an unassisted goal for the Cobras, but Monmouth’s Patrick Trenholm answered a few minutes later to knot the game at 1-1. Goalkeeper Scott Ogden held off the Cobra attack, finishing with nine saves.
