LEWISTON – William A. “Bucky/Buster” Vye Jr., 91, a resident of 1720 Perkins Ridge Road, Auburn, passed away peacefully on Sept. 20, at Central Maine Medical Center, with his family by his side.

He was born in Auburn on Dec. 26, 1913, the son of William A. and Mary (Roderick) Vye Sr.

He worked in the local shoe industry and married the former Lillian Stevens on Nov. 14, 1938. His hobbies included hunting and fishing, and auto racing.

Survivors include one daughter, Joan V. Schoppe and her husband, Tim, of Herman; one son, Richard A. Vye and his wife, Sandy, of Auburn; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his wife, Lillian, in 1996; three brothers; and one sister.
