AUBURN – Breanna Wing recorded a hat trick Wednesday to lead Edward Little to a 6-0 victory over Twin-City rival Lewiston in a KVAC field hockey matchup.

April Gerry put the Red Eddies (1-5) on the board early, while Katelyn Perkins and Allyson Butler also tallied to complete the scoring. Mary Martin and JoAnna Hughes combined for 10 saves in net.

Katie Grant handled goalkeeping duties for the Blue Devils (0-7), turning away 18 shots.

OOB 1, G-NG 0

GRAY – Samantha King grabbed a loose ball in the circle and quickly fired it into the net with 12:17 remaining in the first half to lift Old Orchard Beach to a 1-0 victory over Gray-New Gloucester in WMC field hockey action on Wednesday.

Kristi Geaumont made 14 saves to record the shutout.

Samantha Bishop handled goalkeeping duties for the Patriots (0-6), turning away eight shots. Gray outshot the Seagulls (4-2) 12-7, but failed to capitalize on those opportunities.

Jay 7, Georges Valley 0

THOMASTON – Katie Morin was an offensive force for the Tigers, scoring four goals and dishing out assists on two more as Jay thumped Georges Valley, 7-0, in field hockey action on Wednesday.

While the Tigers had a busy night on the offensive side of the ball, Jay’s defense was equally tough on the Buccaneers, limiting Georges Valley to only one shot on goal in the game.

Brianna Beisaw, Jessica LaBrecque, and Julie Nelson all added a goal and an assist in the rout. Brenda Allen patrolled the goal line for the Tigers (2-5).

Fria Levett stopped 14 shots for the Bucs (0-6).

Telstar 4, Lisbon 2

LISBON – Kayla Mills found the back of the net twice and recorded one assist as Telstar slipped past Lisbon, posting a 4-2 win in a WMC field hockey matchup on Wednesday.

Liz Rosenberg and Danna Wilson each tallied a goal for the Rebels (5-1).

The Greyhounds’ (4-3) effort was paced by Crystal Robishaw and Erica Merrit, with Amanda Stevens assisting on both goals.

Winthrop 3, Mountain Valley 1

WINTHROP – Brianna Tupper tallied a pair of goals, giving Winthrop the edge over Mountain Valley, 3-1. in field hockey action on Wednesday.

Tupper scored the first and third goals for Winthrop (6-1), with assists from Jessica Martin and Marianne Vickerson. Martin scored the second goal of the game after converting a pass from Brittany Gaudet. Meghan McCarthy had a strong game at midfield, while Lauren Dummich was solid on defense.

Bethany Tidswell dropped in the lone goal for the Mountain Valley (3-3).

Greely 2, St. Dom’s 1

CUMBERLAND – Moreen Nickerson converted a pass from Julie Fournier with 3:16 remaining in the second overtime period to lift Greely to a 2-1 victory over powerhouse St. Dom’s in a high-caliber, hard-fought WMC field hockey matchup on Wednesday.

Nickerson put the Rangers (4-1-1) on the board early in the first half with an assist by Maryette Stuart. Rebecca Stevenson made an impressive 20 saves in net to notch the win.

Michela Fyler scored the Saints’ (5-1) lone goal with 7:17 left in regulation with assists from Elisha Dorso and Katie Landry. Freshman keeper Austyn Corolin kept Greely at bay for much of the contest, turning away 18 shots on the day.

Livermore Falls 12, Boothbay 3

LIVERMORE FALLS – Taryn Flagg led a trio of players to record hat tricks Wednesday as Livermore Falls rolled over Boothbay 12-3 in a MVC field hockey matchup.

Erica Gatz and Kelsey Biliouris also scored three goals apiece for the Andies (6-1). Whitney McDaniel, Rachel Ventrella and Becca Leclerc also tallied to complete the scoring.

Midfielders Danielle Therrien, Helaina Lake and Trisha Richards also contributed to the victory with strong performances. Sam Whiting made four saves in net to notch the win.

Melissa Borgif led the Seahawks (1-6) with a pair of goals, while Anna Marden also scored. Britney Dickenson handled netkeeping duties, turning away 15 shots on the day.

Soccer

Lisbon 3, Mountain Valley 0

LISBON – Soleil Mathieu netted a pair of goals Wednesday to pace Lisbon to a 3-0 victory over Mountain Valley in MVC girls’ soccer action.

Vickie Osmond also tallied for the Greyhounds (4-2-1) to round out the final tally. Sam Purcell needed only four saves to preserve the shutout.

Karri McPherson handled netkeeping duties for the Falcons (1-4-2), turning away seven shots fired in her direction.

Proctor 4, Hebron 0

HEBRON – Erin Clayton scored a pair of first-half goals to propel Proctor to a 3-0 lead at the half and eventually give the team 4-0 shutout victory over Hebron on Wednesday.

Emily Cox also scored in the first frame for Proctor (1-0), and Brittany King added another insurance goal in the second half as Proctor outshot Hebron 24-13.

Amy Shackford had a busy night between the pipes for Hebron (0-1), stopping 20 shots.

Maranacook 18, Rockland 0

READFIELD – Jackie Mrazik tallied a game-high seven goals as Maranacook triumphed over Rockland with a dominating 18-0 win Wednesday in girls’ soccer.

Allison Meyer chipped in with three goals and five assists, while Alyssa Neptune and Ali Trafton combined for five goals. Danielle Poulin, Eryn Neptune, and Melissa Piper each netted a goal a piece in the win.

Melissa Piper and Emily Perkins split the net, combining for four saves to preserve the shutout.

Camden Hills 4, Oak Hill 1

WALES – Tara Scott scored on a header off a corner kick to open the scoring, and added a pair of breakaway goals to register a hat trick as Camden Hills downed Oak Hill, 4-1, in girls’ soccer on Wednesday.

Scott’s second goal in the first half stood up as the game-winner.

Kayla Gushee also scored for Camden (6-1), which made the most of its opportunities despite being outshot.

Megan Blais got the Raiders on the board in the second half, tucking a long shot from outside the box under the crossbar.

Courtney Seguin stopped six shots for Oak Hill (0-7). Kerry Gross made 10 saves for the win.
