DIXFIELD – Rob Weymouth beat the defender, the goalie, and the clock to score the game-winning goal in overtime as Dirigo slipped past Mt. Abram 2-1 in a closely-contested MVC matchup.

Weymouth capitalized when the defense overcommitted on a one-on-one and streaked in alone. He tucked the ball into the corner of the net with 8.6 seconds remaining in overtime to pull out the win.

Gary Holman also scored for the Cougars, tying the game in the second half after Aaron Adams gave Mt. Abram a 1-0 lead.

Lenny Hall stopped 11 shots in the Dirigo net. Wyatt Johnson turned aside five scoring chances for the Roadrunners.

Telstar 4, Winthrop 0

BETHEL – Rodrigo Silva had a hand in all four Telstar goals, scoring once and dishing out three assists, as the Rebels downed Winthrop 4-0.

Telstar misfired on several shots early, but kept the pressure on in the Ramblers defensive zone. Frankie Delduca, Silva, and Dan Kiesel eventually broke through, netting three goals during a 12-minute span at the end of the first half.

Max Zinchuck added a goal in the second half for the Rebels (6-3).

Mike Gringas stopped 12 shots in a losing effort for Winthrop. Stephen Scotti had three saves for Telstar.

Wiscassett 2, Jay 1

WISCASSETT – Matt McRae scored the go-ahead goal on a feed from Matt Hinkley as Wiscassett edged Jay 2-1.

Ben Harvell got Tigers (2-6) on the board three minutes into the game. Matt Roundy stopped six shots for Jay.

Lewiston 1, Erskine 0

SOUTH CHINA – Husayn Carnegie scored the lone goal as Lewiston nipped Erskine Academy 1-0 in KVAC boys’ soccer action Friday.

From the 45-yard line, Jake Theriault chipped the ball to Carnegie, who used his head to deflect the ball into the back left-corner of the net to give the Blue Devils (5-2-1) the only goal fo the game.

Lewiston goalie Brian Nason, who had nine saves, stopped a penalty kick at a crucial moment in the game that the defense succeeded in clearing it out of the zone.

The Eagles overloaded the field in the second half and kept the ball in the Blue Devils’ end for most of the frame, but failed to score the equalizer.

Mt. Blue 5, Nokomis 1

NEWPORT – Dan Hayden led all scorers with a pair of goals as Mt. Blue defeated Nokomis 5-1.

Hayden netted both of his goals in the first half, and teammates Greg Allen and Brad Dougherty also scored for the Cougars for a 4-1 lead at the half. Kevin Farrar tallied the final goal for the Cougars. Justin Davis stopped six shots for the shutout for Mt. Blue (5-2).

Winslow 5, Oak Hill 1

WINSLOW – Colin Hay and Luke Salvato scored a pair of goals each to push Winslow to a 5-1 triumph over Oak Hill.

The Raiders (3-5) kept pace with the Black Raiders in the first half despite trailing 2-0 at intermission. Nate Lavoie connected with Mike Eaton to prevent Oak Hill from falling victim to a shutout.

Kory Banek had 11 saves for the Raiders, while Tyler Levasseur turned back nine for the Black Raiders.
