PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) – A Johnson & Wales University student died after falling through the skylight at the Arcade Mall, according to police.

Martin Mladenovic, 22, of Sweden, was on the roof of the mall with at least two friends Friday when he fell through the glass around 8 p.m. He landed on a floor three stories below, police said. Mladenovic suffered a head injury and died later at Rhode Island Hospital.

Rescue workers had to break through the glass doors on the first floor to get to the victim.

Police said the fall seemed accidental, but it appeared alcohol was involved.

The Arcade, which opened in 1828, is the oldest indoor shopping mall in the country. Johnson & Wales had owned the mall from 1995 until earlier this year.
