WOODSTOCK – Franklin Grange 124 celebrated its 130th anniversary with a program and party on Sept. 10 at the hall on Main Street, Bryant Pond.

Present for the special day were State Grange Master Steve Verrill and his wife, Sue, state Flora; state grange assistant and lady assistant stewards, Harold and Millie Parsons; Agriculture Committee, David and Jeanne Burnham; Junior Committee, Richard and Sherry Harriman.

Verrill and Grange Master Richard G. Felt presented the following membership certificates: Alice Hoyt, Ernestine and Bill Riley, 25 years; Leah Deegan, 50 years; Harriet Estes, Phyllis Jordan, Edwin Howe, and J. Frances Howe, 60 years; Wilma Day, 65 years; Mary Billings and Robert Day, 70 years.

A certificate of appreciation was presented to Anna Woodworth along with a bouquet of roses.

A certificate of appreciation for 30 years of service was given to Felt.

At the end of the ceremony, Felt thanked Lecturer Bertha DeHaas for her grange work and presented her with a bouquet.

The program consisted of a vocal solo by Stephen Seames, history of Franklin Grange by members, accordion solo by Laura Hutchins, a skit by Russell Yates and Peggy Blake, music by the grange band and a memorial tableau at the altar for departed grangers. A buffet lunch was topped off by an anniversary cake.
