LEWISTON – Mayors Lionel C. Guay Jr. and Normand W. Guay have signed a joint proclamation designating Oct. 1 as “Maine Alzheimer’s Awareness Day” in Lewiston-Auburn.
The proclamation highlights the fact that on Oct. 1, there will be 15 Memory Walks across the state to raise money and voices in support of people living with Alzheimer’s.
The Lewiston-Auburn Memory Walk registration begins at 7:30 a.m. Saturday at Pettengill School on College Street, with the kickoff at 8:30 a.m. Walkers may walk 1, 3, or 6 miles. For more information, people may call 524-3455.
