FARMINGTON – Geraldine K. “Gerry” Willauer, 88, of Farmington, died Tuesday, Sept. 27, at Franklin Memorial Hospital.

She was born on July 15, 1917, in Hellertown, Pa., the daughter of Howard F. and Minnie (Shuman) Rinker. She received her formal business education at the Bethlehem Business College. She retired to Maine and lived in Industry for the past 23 years.

She enjoyed a full life as a homemaker, executive secretary and owner of a woman’s clothing store. She was active in numerous community organizations, including the Order of the Eastern Star, where she served as worthy matron, the American Legion Auxiliary, where she served as president and as an officer in the Starks chapter of the Grange.

Cooking, traveling, bird-watching and music were some of her favorite pastimes. She was an accomplished musician on the piano and organ and served as church organist for many years.

She is survived by her husband, Wilmer, a resident of the Sandy River Center for Healthcare and Rehabilitation in Farmington; her son, Dick Willauer and his partner, Sharon Arsenault, of Industry; three grandchildren, Stephanie Harris of Lawrence, Kan., Brian Collins of Bristol and Lissa Niederer of Augusta; one great-grandchild; and her beloved cat, Ginger.
