LEWISTON – Allan Clark, 71, of 16 Arkwright Ave., Lewiston, died at Central Maine Medical Center Friday, Sept. 30, due to complications from surgery.

He was born in Lewiston on Aug. 12, 1934, the son of Allan and Marie Brown Clark. He attended Lewiston schools and served his country during the Korean War.

Upon his honorable discharge from the service, he worked at Knapp Shoe in Lewiston until his disability from severe rheumatoid arthritis.

He will be greatly missed by the many friends he made on his local bus route and downtown as he walked everywhere as long as he was able.

Allan was a loving father to daughters, Elizabeth Keene of Portland, and Sandra and husband, Mickey Grandmaison, of Lewiston; and son, Jeffrey Clark, of Lewiston.

He is also survived by grandchildren, Casey Clark, Alicia, Justine and Erica Grandmaison, and great-granddaughter, Samantha Clark; his loving sister, Joyce Palman and husband Raymond, ex-wife and mother of his children, Priscilla Bard, who remained a close friend throughout his life. He will also be sadly missed by his best friend of many years, Irene O’Brien; many nieces and nephews, Fran Dumont and husband, Duane, and their children Jessica and Ethan, Cadby Palman and son, Cole, Sue Sproul, her husband, Bob, and their children, Beth, Angela and Jacob, and David Palman and his wife, Joanne.

He will be missed by his many relatives in Maine and out of state, including Rudy and Evelyn Cormier, and Carlton and Estelle St. Amand.

He was predeceased by his parents; his son, Thomas Clark; his brother, Steve Clark, and wife, Rita Barriault Clark.
