NORWAY – Cameron Albert Turner, 64, of Norway, died on Saturday, Oct. 1, at his residence.

He was born in Lewiston, on July 5, 1941, the son of George Kenneth Turner and Marilyn Davis Turner Dow. He lived in Buckfield until age 5, when the family moved to South Paris, where he graduated from Paris High School in 1959. In 1961, he graduated from Auburn School of Commerce with a degree in business.

He worked as a mail carrier, and for many years hauled bulk milk, having taken over the business from his father in 1966, who had taken it over from his dad.

To say he loved sports was an understatement. He coached baseball, while his sons came up through the system, and in 1976 coached the South Paris Little League to a perfect 16-0 season. His beloved Red Sox and Patriots gave him such heartbreak, but he was in his glory when they recently won their consecutive championships.

He was a past member of the Kora Temple Shriners’ second section, Maine Harness Horsemen’s Association, and several men’s bowling and softball teams.

He liked to hunt, fish and snowmobile, and to spend peaceful time at the family camp on Rangeley Lake. Most of all, he liked being around his family, and was remembered by many for his distinctive laugh.

He is survived by his wife, Maureen Hamlin Turner, of Norway; son, Greg and his wife, Sara, of Waterford, and their children, Chelsea, Kayla, Skylar, Lily, and Walter; son, Scott Turner and his wife, Denise, of South Paris, and their daughters, Amy and Jessica; daughter Sherrilyn Page and her husband, Stephan, of South Paris, and their children, Halie and Kalvin; brother, Kenneth Arnold Turner and his wife, Rosemary, of Norway.

He was predeceased by his father in 1966, and his mother in 1994.
