LIVERMORE FALLS – Selectmen have decided to re-advertise for applications for a new town manager, Deputy Town Clerk Faith Nichols said Friday.

Selectmen had received 22 applications for the position vacated by former Town Manager Alan Gove in July.

A search committee interviewed five candidates and sent its top three choices to selectmen.

The board interviewed two candidates; a third declined an interview. The panel had reached a consensus to make an offer to one of the two, board Chairman Ken Jacques had said in mid-September.

A background check had been conducted and negotiations were expected to follow.

Nichols, who was on the search committee, said she didn’t know what happened except that selectmen opted to begin the application process again.

The new round of applications will be due Monday, Oct. 17, Nichols said.

The details of the search have not been completed.
