STANDISH – Andy Knox and Craig Cameron each scored as the University of Maine at Farmington blanked St. Joseph’s 2-0 on its home field in men’s soccer action.

Knox netted the game-winner early in the first off a pass from Jeff Tatarczuk. Cameron scored 20 minutes later, assisted by Brian Borderick.

Brian Lemont stopped eight shots for the shutout patrolling the goal-line for the Beavers (3-6-1). David Rosquette had six saves for the Monks (3-5-1).

Maine 3, Air Force 1

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Maine scored three unanswered goals on power play opportunities to down the Air Force 3-1 in hockey action Friday.

The first goal of the game came at the 4:32 mark of the third period when Eric Ehn converted a relay from Brian Gineo to put the Air Force (0-1) up 1-0.

The Black Bears (1-0) were able to agitate Frank Schiavone and Matt Bader into serious penalty situations as the third period got heated. Both players earned a checking from behind and a game misconduct roughly six minutes apart from each other.

Josh Soares tied the game with a goal at the 13:54 mark, while Jon Jankus and Derek Damon followed with the go ahead and insurance goals in the final five minutes.
