RUMFORD – Ann B. Buotte, 81, of Holyoke Avenue, Rumford, died Friday, Oct. 7, with her family by her side,at Rumford Hospital, Rumford.

She was born in Rumford on May 11, 1924, a daughter of Peter and Ludvika (Antizus) Pocius. She graduated from St. Athanasius School in 1939 and from Stephens High School in Rumford in 1943.

For a short time, she was employed at Oxford Paper Co. in Rumford during World War II and then for many years served as vice president of the Community Energy Co., in Rumford.

She was a communicant of St. Athanasius-St. John Church and was formerly active in the Lithuanian Societies.

She enjoyed knitting, bowling with the girls, dining out, was a great lover of animals and especially loved spending time with her family.

She was married in Rumford on Oct. 11, 1946, to the late Norman J. Buotte; he died in Lewiston on March 11, 1981.

Survivors include a daughter, Barbara Arsenault and husband, Roger, of Rumford; a son, Lee Buotte and wife, Rose, of Rumford; a sister, Phyllis Weliska, of Rumford; three grandchildren, Peter Buotte and wife, Amanda, of Rumford, Brian Arsenault and his companion, Jessica Packard, of Rumford, and Steven Arsenault of Rumford; and a great-granddaughter, Brooke Elizabeth Buotte, of Rumford.

She was predeceased by a son, Bruce David Buotte; a sister, Stella Pocius; and a brother, Peter Pocius.
