WILMINGTON, Del. – The Lewiston Smashers 14-and-under tennis team is representing the Lewiston Rec and the New England region this weekend at the U.S.A Team Tennis tournament. The three-day tournament crowns a champion today based on the highest total of wins by all team members.
In Saturday action against teams from Delaware, Pennsylvania and New York, the Smashers won all three matches to wind up in second place, four games behind the tournament leader, West End, from New York.
The Smashers face Eastern Massachusetts today in hopes to be flawless while the tournament leader falters.
