LEWISTON – Eileen M. French, 79, of Spring Street, Lewiston, died Sunday, Oct. 9, at Marshwood Health Care, surrounded by her family, after a short illness.
Born on Jan. 30, 1926, the daughter of Richard and Pearl (Heman) McGee, she graduated from Lewiston High School, Class of 1943, and then attended Bliss College.
On May 7, 1949, she married Jack E. French. Eileen worked for Venus Shoe, F.W. Woolworth, B. Peck Co., Maine Central Railroad and then owned McGee’s Market on Spring Street in Lewiston.
She was a past member of UCT and Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, Kappa Chapter. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Survivors include her husband, Jack, of Lewiston; a daughter, Willow Williams, and husband, Foris, of Gorham; three sons, Dana French, and wife, Nancy, of Minot, Richard French, and wife, Leona, of Sabattus, and Andrew French, of Lewiston.
