Rotary supper

LISBON FALLS – The Lisbon Rotary Club will host a spaghetti supper at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 19. Proceeds from the supper will benefit the Student of the Month awards at Lisbon Community School, Philip W. Sugg Middle School and Lisbon High School. Supper will be held in the Lisbon High School cafeteria. An auction will be held at 6 p.m. Adult tickets are $5 each; children $3 each. A duck pond will also be available for the younger group.

Society birthday

POLAND – The Poland Historical Society will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 19, at the Old Schoolhouse next to the Poland Town Office on Route 26.

After a short business meeting, the society will celebrate its 10th birthday with cake and ice cream. Past President David Tedford will provide a brief history of the society’s first 10 years. The public is invited.

Seniors lunch

AUBURN – The First Auburn Senior Citizens will meet Wednesday, Oct. 19, at Hasty Community Center at Pettengill Park. Members will have a Halloween luncheon, which will be followed by bingo.

The club met Oct. 5 with President Caroline Chapman in charge. Attendance winners were Gracie McDaniels and Roy Tassinari; pot of gold, Norma Masse, Bob Adkins and Valerie Labrie. October birthdays were recognized.

Pumpkin parade

AUBURN – The public is invited to participate in the fifth annual Parade of Jack O’Lanterns. Those who carve jack o’lanterns should bring their work of art to Gracelawn Road, just past St. Dominic Regional High School, between 9 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 21, for display.

Pumpkins on Parade will take place from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday through Sunday, Oct. 21 to 23.

The sponsors will give proceeds to the Maine Children’s Cancer Society and will take voluntary donations. All Red Hat Society members are invited to join for the festivities and carve us a pumpkin.

Packs open

AUBURN – Three Auburn Cub Scout Packs are still welcoming new members. Pack 111 meets at the United Methodist Church, 439 Park Ave. Anyone interested should call Bill Buzza at 783-9786.
