CLEARWATER, Fla. – Felida Ouellette Simard, wife of the late Bertrand Simard, of Lewiston, died Thursday, Oct. 13, in Clearwater, Fla.

She was born in Berlin, N.H., on May 16, 1908, to the Alfred and Armosa LaCasse Ouellette. She was the sister of the late Eva Dionne, Aurele Ouellette and Romeo Ouellette.

She resided in Lewiston her entire life. She was very active within the community, being a lifelong member of the Y.W.C.A. and co-founder of the Rainbow Auxiliary Club, The Dames de Saint Anne, Holy Cross Parish, served on the Meadowview Council, and was a member of the Holy Family Parish.

She volunteered for several local concerns, including the Retired Senior Volunteer Program/55.

She was very friendly with everyone, and was an avid swimmer and reader.

She was the mother of Jacqueline Simard Lesperance, husband Gregoire of Old Orchard, Maine, Pauline Simard Vasiliauskas and husband, Joseph, formerly of Middletown, Conn., (both deceased), Bertrand Simard and wife Margarite of Ariton, Ala., Sister Claudette Simard FMM of North Providence, R.I., and Suzanne Simard Gardner and husband Eugene of Palm Harbor, Fla.

She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, Judy Lesperance Chabot and husband Bob, Paul Lesperance and wife Louise, Claude Lesperance, Marc Lesperance and wife Michelle, Michael Vasilauskas and wife Mary, Carrie Johnson, Joseph Vasilauskas and wife Karen, Suzanne Baillargeon and husband Arthur, Rick Gardner and wife Georgia, Michelle Gardner, and Danielle Schreiber and husband Leonard, four step-granddaughters, Sharon and husband Tom, Joan and husband Ron, Toni and husband Rich, and Margaret; 22 great-grandchildren; six step great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
