Dear Sun Spots: Might you please have the address to the show “Three Wishes,” which is on Fridays?
Secondly, would someone please be willing to do a cross-stitch for me at a reasonable price? I can be reached at (207) 946-7040. – No Name, No Town.
Answer: The show “Three Wishes” debuted on NBC on Sept. 23 starring Amy Grant, who travels around the country granting wishes. NBC’s describes it as an inspiring and heartwarming unscripted series starring the five-time Grammy Award-winning recording artist. The wishes range from paying tribute to an unsung hero to helping a family grappling with a loved one’s life-threatening medical crisis to honoring a high school coach by making her wish for her students come true.
You can contact the show through NBC at NBC Viewer Relations, 30 Rockefeller Plaza, New York, NY 10112.
If you or other column readers are interested in being granted three wishes, you might be interested in noting that NBC is looking for emotional stories of people in need. They would like to help deserving people, people who always help others, but never think of themselves. The wishes can involve fantasies, reunions and personal journeys – as long as the wishes come from the heart. There are no limits to what this show can do or how many lives it can change, according to the show. Anything you can imagine will be considered and price is not an object.
If you would like to be considered for the show, every submission must include the following:
Background info on the person(s) being nominated.
Tell NBC what wish should be granted. Be creative and be specific!
Picture of nominee and all contact information such as name, address, phone number, etc.
Send mail to CASTING, “Three Wishes” c/o NBC, 330 Bob Hope Drive C-117, Burbank, CA 91523.
Dear Sun Spots: I have two sets of books that I do not know what to do with them. Can you help me? Both sets are in excellent shape, just a little discolored due to age. One set is Popular Mechanics Illustrated Home Handyman Encyclopedia & Guide, copyright 1961. The second set is The International Wildlife Encyclopedia by Marshall Cavendish Corp., copyright 1969. If anyone has a suggestion, please give me a call at 743-0532 or 754-0206. – Lisa, Oxford.
Dear Sun Spots: I was wondering if you could please find out for me if you can order NASCAR products from any stores other than at www.nascar.com? If so, I’d like an address or phone number. Thanks. – M.S., Wilton.
Answer: In addition to responses from readers, if you have access to a computer, Sun Spots would encourage you to Google this request. In the meantime, you can also find NASCAR products online at http://www.sportsfanoutlet.com/nascar.htm; http://www.smsonline.com/gear/index1.html and http://www.sportsfanfare.com/dale-earnhardt-3-nascar.html, to name a few.
Dear Sun Spots: Thanks for your great column. I have a few items that your readers may want or need that I no longer can use. I have a Brothers typewriter/word processor. If a reader likes to do cross-stitch, I have over 500 colors, many never used before, plus two hardcover Christmas instruction books with various patterns, plus containers to hold materials and a stationary 325 magnetic exercise bike. All these items are in very good condition and because of physical limitations I am unable to use them. I am hoping a church or school or an individual who would need or enjoy these items, which are free, will contact me. I’d be more than happy to talk with them. The items will need to be picked up. Thank you for all your wonderful work, I read your column every morning. I can be reached at (207) 743-2323 or leave a message and I will call back. – No Name, No Town.
