BOLSTERS MILLS – The Bolsters Mills Ladies Guild will hold its Bayberry Fair from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 22, after a 13-year hiatus.
Reflecting the change in times, the fair will be held in a different location and with different crafts than in the late 1980s and early 1990s. The fair will be held in the Bolsters Mills United Methodist Church community room with a large craft selection made by members of the guild, including a variety of Halloween and Christmas items, pottery, jewelry, quilts and rugs made by invited crafters. A light lunch will be available.
The guild was started in 1906 as the Bolsters Mills Ladies Aid Society. Its primary missions of fellowship and community and worldwide service have not changed in almost 100 years.
While still supporting and using the local church, the guild has discontinued its religious connection to make the group more inclusive to women of different faiths and backgrounds.
