LEWISTON – Theresa B. Gilbert, 77, of 158 Russell St., and formerly of River Street, Lewiston, died Monday, Oct. 17, at Russell Park Rehabilitation and Living Center following a long illness.
She was born in Auburn on July 20, 1928, the daughter of Isadore and Roseanna (Charest) Brillant, and had been a resident of this community all of her life.
She married Leo Gilbert on May 8, 1948; he died on Dec. 16, 1995.
She was employed as a nurse’s aid for many years at Marcotte Home and d’Youville Pavilion. She was a member of St. Joseph’s Church.
She enjoyed making fudge and candy. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by one daughter, Monique Martin and her husband, Richard, of Lisbon Falls; one sister, Alice Albert of Sabattus; three grandchildren, Mona Parrish of Lisbon, Rick Martin of Wamego, Kan., and Jonica Martin of Turner; four great-grandchildren, Joshua and Zach Martin, both of Manhattan, Kan., and Andrew and Michael Parrish of Lisbon; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by one sister, Juliette.
