LEWISTON – Beatrice A. Laliberte, 89, a resident of 540 College St., Montello Manor since July and previously from Russell Park, passed away on Thursday, Oct. 20, following a long illness.

She was born in Lewiston on April 3, 1916, the daughter of Edmond and Leda (Breton) Roy, and was a resident of this community all her life.

She married Adelard “Del” Laliberte on July 3, 1937, at St. Peter’s Church. He died on Aug. 26, 1993.

She worked for more than 25 years in the shoe shops of Lewiston and Auburn. In her mid-50s, she retired to take care of two of her grandchildren and loved every minute of it.

She was a member of Holy Cross Parish, Ladies of Holy Cross, Horizon 55 and Covenant 50.

She is survived by one son, Richard P. Laliberte and his wife, Rita, of Port Richie, Fla.; one daughter, Rachel Ricker and her husband, Robert, of Lewiston; five grandchildren, which were the love of her life; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.

She was predeceased by three brothers, Girard, Woodrow and Harold Roy.

She will be greatly missed by her family. The family wishes to thank the staff of Montello Manor and Beacon Hospice for the wonderful care they gave her.
