Dear Sun Spots: The Lewiston Downtown Holiday Celebration Committee is looking for an individual(s) who would be willing to volunteer his/her time to make holiday costumes for the Dec. 8, downtown celebration.

A lively procession will proceed down Lisbon Street to Courthouse Plaza for the lighting of the Christmas tree and the menorah, along with visits with Santa and other entertainment. To enhance the entire event, we’d like to have a costumed elf, snowflake, snowman, etc., mingling about.

We are seeking an individual(s) who would be willing to take on the task of these costumes for reuse each year.

If someone is interested in undertaking this sewing task, the committee will provide necessary materials for each costume.

In addion, we are looking for skilled jugglers who might also want to volunteer their time to participate both in the procession down Lisbon Street and during the activities at Courthouse Plaza. Interested parties may contact the committee at (207) 784-2951, ex: 110. – Downtown Holiday Celebration Committee, Dottie Perham-Whittier and Nick Knowlton, co-chairs, Lewiston.
