On Oct. 14, Travis Roy came to Lewiston Middle School to talk with the students. You might know that he was the hockey player who became paralyzed in the first 11 seconds of his college hockey career.
He had a lot to say about goals and that you should always believe that you can achieve them. He told us that you should write down your goals and check them off as you achieve them. He has written a book, Eleven Seconds. He says that he does not regret playing hockey. In fact, even now, 10 years later, he still loves the sport.
He has established a foundation called the Travis Roy Foundation. The foundation is raising money for spinal cord injury research. If you would like to look at his website, go to www.travisroyfoundation.org.
All of LMS would agree that Travis Roy is an inspiration to all people everywhere.
