NORWAY – Beatrice Althea Andrews Farnum, 93, of Bryant Pond, died Wednesday, Oct. 26.

She was born in Albany on Sept. 15, 1912, the daughter of Arthur and Bessie (Grover) Andrews. She was educated in local schools and graduated from Woodstock High School, Class of 1931.

She married Joseph Farnum on June 16, 1931, and he died on Dec. 3, 1979. In her earlier years, she had worked as a cook at Denney’s Restaurant in Bryant Pond, later at Mann Clothespin Factory and most recently at Ecko Wood Products of Greenwood.

She was a member of the Woodstock-Greenwood Senior Citizens, Franklin Grange of Bryant Pond and the Daughters of Union Veterans. She loved to cook and her family was her life, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed camping at the ocean with her family and family get-togethers were extremely important to her.

She is survived by two daughters, Alice Hoyt and her husband, Kenneth, of Bryant Pond, and Leatrice Chase and her husband, John, of Greenwood; one sister, Edith Hathaway, of Bryant Pond; eight grandchildren, Elizabeth and Steve Hoover of Bryant Pond, JoAnn and David Crockett of Bethel, James and Charlene Hoyt of Norway, Robert and Gwenn Hoyt of Augusta, Althea and Robert Stevens of Bethel, Richard and Teresa Chase of Bryant Pond, Andrew and Rhonda Chase of Norway and Crystal and Aric Beane of Anchorage, Alaska; 15 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
