FARMINGTON – Karen Montanaro will perform dance and mime in her show, “Tanzspeil,” at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 29, in Nordica Auditorium at the University of Maine at Farmington.
Montanaro is a principal dancer with the Portland Ballet. For the past 15 years, she collaborated and performed with her husband, world renowned mime Tony Montanaro, who is now deceased.
She has danced professionally with the Ohio State Ballet, and the Darmstadt Opera Ballet in Germany.
Among the pieces she will perform are “Hunter and Tiger,” in which a nave hunter encounters several animals before meeting the tiger; “Silent Movie Heroine,” a mime/dance starring a heroine, a villian and an unforgiving father and a hero; and “Call to Arms,” a movement study of war.
