PORTLAND (AP) – Ryan Shannon scored twice and Dustin Penner added a goal and two assists on Friday to give the Portland Pirates their fourth straight win, beating the Philadelphia Phantoms 5-2.

The Pirates held the Phantoms scoreless until three-quarters through the second period. After Shannon notched his first of the evening 6:49 into the first period, the Pirates (5-2-0-0) added two when Curtis Glencross hit the net at 11:05 of the second and Shannon connected again at 13:06.

The Phantoms (4-3-0-0) cut their deficit to one when Eric Meloche scored at 15:39 of the second and David Printz made it 3-2 at 16:44.

Tim Brent scored at 6:55 of the third and Penner hit an empty net with 40 seconds remaining.

Nathan Marsters made 22 saves in the win, while loser Jamie Storr had 31.
