LIVERMORE FALLS – The Livermore Falls-Jay Senior Citizens met on Oct. 24 with 44 members and one guest present at which time they had the monthly SeniorsPlus meal of chicken stew, carrot salad, biscuits and fruit cocktail.
Chairwoman Shirley Couture led the meeting and Mary Groleau led the the group as they sang “How Great Thou Art.”
There was one guest present, Margaret Lavalee. Couture reported that Annette Fournier is in a nursing home in Winthrop for rehabilitation.
Next week the group will have a Halloween party and members wishing to do so may attend in costume. Couture was observing her birthday on this day so the group sang the customary greeting to her.
The slate of officers elected for the coming year include: Shirley Couture, chairwoman; Shirley Toncer, co-chairwoman; Lucile Frechette, recording secretary; Jeannine Williams, co-secretary; Marilyn Desoto, treasurer; Jeannette Buck, co-treasurer; and Patty Couture, membership.
The 50-50’s were won by Eugene Roy and Athanase Couture. A basket of apples donated to the group was won by Lucile Frechette. The meeting was adjourned and games of cards were played.
