FARMINGTON – Winners have been announced in the annual Halloween painting contest in downtown Farmington, which took place Friday, Oct. 28. The event, which has been in existence for more than 30 years, was open to students from preschool to sixth-grade in Farmington schools and Cape Cod Hill School.
Window painting was judged on originality, technique, neatness of painting and area, and the Halloween or autumn theme. Prizes were awarded by the Farmington Rotary Club for each group: first place, $10; second place, $8; third place, $6; fourth place, $4, and fifth place, $2.
There were 148 children who took part in the festivities this year. The winners were:
Preschool: Jaclyn Daggett, Parker Foster, Emma Bennett, Gavyn Moreshead and Trinity Titus.
Kindergarten: Samantha Ellis, Andrea Jones, Abigail McCarthy, Cecilia Dean and Hunter Bolduc.
Grades 1 & 2: Miriam Cohen, Sarah Loewen, Brianna Ellis, Joseph Dean and Russell France.
Grades 3 & 4: Alexis Wyman-LaBelle, Eve Fuerstenberger, Savannah Swain, Thomas Haines and Emma Enoch.
Grades 5 & 6: Louisa Stancioff, Addie Cullenberg, Mali Obomsawin, Linette Langlois and Brianna Gelinas.
The event is sponsored by the Farmington Business and Professional Association and the Farmington Rotary Club.
