GORHAM – Dianna Thibaudeau scored the only goal of the match in the 20th minute to lift the Southern Maine to a 1-0 victory over Rhode Island College in the first round of the Little East Conference playoffs.
Liz Brunton set up the goal with some hard work in the right corner before crossing the ball into the box. Thibaudeau got her head on it and directed it past RIC keeper Krissie Pyzynski.
Mindy Morneault made five saves in net for the Huskies (11-6-1).

KEENE, N.H. – Katrine Pokrywka and Amanda Rosenbeck scored Tuesday to lead No. 2 Keene State to a 2-0 victory over the seventh-seed Southern Maine in the first round of the 2005 Little East Conference field hockey tournament.
Keene State (12-8) took a 1-0 lead midway through the first half when Pokrywka converted an assist from Rachel Ladd following a penalty corner. Despite being out-shot 6-0 in the opening stanza, the Huskies (7-13) held the Owls to one goal in the half as keeper Sadie Garnache-Poirier remained steady in goal.
Garnache-Poirier recorded five saves.
