JAY – Jay police charged an Auburn man with two counts of felony burglary Wednesday in connection with break-ins at two establishments in Jay reported on Oct. 27, police said Wednesday.
Travis Enman, 22, is accused of burglarizing the Knights of Columbus Hall and Hilltop Collision Center, both on Route 4.
Jay special investigator Roderick Small said last week that some items and a small amount of cash were taken from Hilltop and nothing appeared missing from the hall.
Some of the items stolen were recovered, Jay Police Chief Larry White said Wednesday.
Enman’s charges are the result of a joint investigation with the Lewiston Police Department, White said.
Lewiston Police Lt. Tom Avery said Wednesday that Enman was charged with burglary by Lewiston police at 5:43 a.m. Thursday. Enman is accused of breaking into Al’s Sports Center on Lisbon Street in Lewiston, Avery said.
Enman is being held on $1,140 cash bail at the Androscoggin County Jail in Auburn, a corrections officer said Wednesday.
White said a second individual may also be charged in connection with the Jay burglaries.
An investigation into other burglaries in Jay is ongoing, White said.
