LEWISTON – Students from the Lewiston United Martial Arts Academies recently attended the 14th annual United Martial Arts Academies Family Reunion Tournament, hosted by the Augusta dojo.
Students competed in forms and sparring, and also helped create a martial arts demonstration with a Star Wars theme.
The Lewiston U.M.A.A. helped raise over $2,200 for Project Action, an organization dedicated to helping less fortunate children nationwide.
Among those who competed and or performed in the demonstration were: Skyler Webster-Pact, Brandon Powell, PJ Powell, Tyler Harding, Anthony Harding, Joshua Cunningham, Heather Spaulding, Michael Spaulding, Lauren Farago, Connor Farago, Ryan Donovan, Jordan Hunt, Erika Caron, Zachary Paquette, Noah Withee, Dakota Withee, Barbara Staples.
Webster-Pact, who has Myotonic Dystrophy and has competed in multiple tournaments as well as local Special Olympics events, received special recognition and earned first place in his fighting division.
