JAY – The Jay Board of Selectmen’s Monday, Nov. 7, meeting has been canceled due to the lack of a quorum.
Club tea
WILTON – The Wiltona Women’s Club will meet at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 8, at the Wilton Congregational Church for the annual benefit tea and to hear the Mt. Blue Voices.
Contributions from the event will go to the Alzheimer’s and Multiple Sclerosis Associations. Guests are invited. Hostesses will be Gayle Chase, Helen Colburn and Marge Beckler.
Christmas fair
FARMINGTON – The Trinity United Methodist Women of Farmington are preparing for their annual Christmas Fair from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 19, at Trinity Church, Route 2. There will also be a turkey and biscuit meal with apple crisp from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The fair will offer a variety of gifts for all occasions. On hand will be Thanksgiving and Christmas decorations, needlework, knitted goods, handmade gifts, plants, baked goods and candy, jams, jellies, and relishes. There will also be a cookie walk.
All proceeds will be directed to projects focusing on women and children, the mission emphasis of the United Methodist Women.
