BRIDGTON – Bridgton Hospital Certified Diabetes Educator Elaine Drew, RN, will offer the A1C Champions Program, “Taking Control,” from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 28, in the hospital clinic lobby.
The program is a patient-led approach to diabetes education. A1C Champions are people with diabetes who are trained and evaluated to share diabetes self-management and lifestyle strategies based on extensive training and personal experience.
Topics in the 60-minute presentation will include achieving glucose control, learning about effective self-management, developing a balanced lifestyle, planning and prioritizing diabetes management, overcoming fears surrounding diabetes and finding resources for diabetes support.
