AUBURN – Bertrand and MaryAnn (Asselin) Vallee of Auburn recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. They were married on Sept. 3, 1955, at Sacred Heart Church in Auburn, with the Rev. Theodore A. Bouthot officiating at the ceremony.
The intimate affair was coordinated and hosted by their children at the home of Marc Vallee in Lewiston, son of the couple.
They have six children, Marc of Lewiston, Mike and his fiancee, Pamela Bartlett, of Lewiston, Joline of Gray, Linda Brewer and her husband, Christopher, of Woolwich, Steven and his wife, Joline, of Auburn, and James of Auburn. They also have six grandchildren, Jacob and Hannah Brewer, Alyssa and Trevor Vallee and Courtney and Brett Vallee.
The matron of honor, MaryJane (Asselin) Guerrette of Auburn attended the gathering with her husband, Normand. Also attending were Lisa Watson, Robert Asselin, Therese Rouleau and Mike and Ann Therriault and their two sons, Corey and Ian.
An open-air barbecue luncheon was followed by toasts, given by their sons, Marc and Mike. The couple then cut the cake and lovingly fed each other a piece, as they had done 50 years ago to the day. Cards and gifts were presented followed by a few special words from the couple.
The guests then gathered at the pool and patio area, where everyone enjoyed the late summer afternoon.
