LEWISTON – A city man was arrested Saturday evening and charged with burglary, aggravated assault and attempted robbery after a break-in at a Blake Street apartment building;

Casey Jones Stanley, 24, 84 College St., was being held at the Androscoggin County Jail Sunday in lieu of $5,000 bail.

Police Lt. Tom Avery said Stanley was arrested at 18 Blake St. shortly before 7 p.m. Saturday.

Police said Stanley broke into an apartment at that address late Friday night, assaulted the man living there while he was asleep in bed, then tried to steal the man’s wallet.

The victim, a 38-year-old, required medical treatment for a broken nose and other facial injuries, Avery said. The man was treated at a city hospital then released.
