BRATTLEBORO, Vt. (AP) – Seven people were arrested Monday during a protest at the corporate offices of the Vermont Yankee nuclear power plant.
Five Massachusetts residents and two from Vermont were charged with criminal trespass for entering the property after being warned not to, police said.
About 45 people turned out to protest nuclear power, Entergy Nuclear’s proposed power increase at the Vernon nuclear reactor and what they say is a lack of oversight by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission.
