WILTON – The 79th annual Cox reunion was held Aug. 20 at Kineowatha Park with 20 people present. A potluck lunch was served buffet-style, with Helen Seaward offering grace.
After lunch, a business meeting was held and the secretary and the treasurer’s report was read and accepted. Deceased members reported were Richard Cox of Monmouth, Virginia Crane’s brother, and Steven Madsen of West Gardiner.
The eldest man present was Frank Cox, 82, of East Livermore; eldest woman, Maxine Palmer, 84, of Dixfield. David and Cheryl Madsen of South Hampton, Mass., traveled the furthest. The youngest descendant present was Charlee Chantel Cox, 3 , daughter of Charles and Kymm Cox Jr. of Lisbon.
Next year’s reunion will be held at Kineowatha Park on Aug. 12 and every second Saturday of August after that.
After the business meeting was over, an auction was led by Tim Rines of South Paris, with Matthew Terenzoni of North Turner assisting. Between the auction and donations there was $141.86 to deposit in the Cox Reunion Fund.
