KINGFIELD – Deputies are investigating a break-in at the Sugarloaf Sports Outlet on Main Street that netted a cash register with an undisclosed amount of cash, Franklin County Sheriff’s Lt. Niles Yeaton said Monday.
Yeaton said he was told by a deputy that it appears something was tied to a door and the door was pulled open with a vehicle, Yeaton said. The building, on the corner of Routes 27 and 142, was apparently entered through a side door, he said.
Deputy Heidi Gould is leading the investigation of the incident, which occurred between 5 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. Friday.
