Martel meeting

LEWISTON – Section Martel, Association Canado-Americaine, will meet at 1:15 p.m. Monday, Nov. 14, at Frye School Retirement Home Hall, 140 Ash St., rear entrance.

An optional meal is available at noon at Ramada’s Dudley’s Restaurant. President Gilberte Baril will inform membership about winter activities, and all members are invited to attend.

Sodality speaker

LEWISTON – The Ladies of St Ann Sodality of Holy Family Parish will hold general meeting at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 16, in the parish hall. The speaker will be Dale Carlson of the Root Cellar. Refreshment will be served.

Society to elect

POLAND – The Poland Historical Society will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 16, at the Old Schoolhouse next to the Poland Town Office, Route 26. The society will elect officers for the coming year.

There will be a potluck supper at 6 p.m. The public is invited to the supper and meeting.

Food for Thought

LEWISTON – The Senior College Food for Thought luncheon program at USM/Lewiston-Auburn on Friday, Nov. 18, will feature a presentation by Rose Goodwin on her experiences in England during World War II and her subsequent coming to America as a war bride.

The program will be held in the function room at USM/Lewiston-Auburn beginning at noon. The cost, which includes lunch, is $6 with advance reservation or $8 at the doors, which open at 11:30 a.m. Reservation should be made by noon Thursday, Nov. 17, at 753-6510 or www.usm.maine.edu/lac.

Grange forum

LITCHFIELD – Litchfield Grange 127 will host the first in a series of community forums at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 18. Maine State Police Trooper Daren Guillereault will discuss “Identity Theft and Security.”

Turkey raffle

AUBURN – The annual turkey raffle will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 18, at the VFW Post 1603, 588 Minot Ave. Proceeds will benefit the Blue Christmas for Needy Children. For more information, call 784-6883.
