LIVERMORE FALLS – Police are investigating several vehicle burglaries that occurred overnight in the area of Cross, High and Sewall streets.

Greene’s Auto also reported antennas bent over on four vehicles at the lot on Park Street.

A resident on Cross Street looked out the window and noticed a door open on a vehicle and the interior light on, police officer Ken Bryant said Friday. Someone had gone through the glove compartment, he said.

The officer drove around on patrol and noticed several other vehicles that had interior lights on in the neighborhood. Glove compartments and center consoles had been looked through, with compact discs, change and other small items reported missing, Bryant said.

Driver injured in Lisbon pileup

LISBON – One driver was injured in a three-car rear-end crash on Route 196 in Lisbon on Friday night.

Mark Farris, 49, of 9 Birch St., Lisbon Falls, complained of back pain and was taken to Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston, according to Sgt. Patrick Gagnon.

According to Gagnon, all three cars were traveling east toward Lisbon Falls. Farris was driving behind a car operated by John Ziehm, 46, of 19 Memorial Drive in Lisbon, who had slowed in traffic.

Farris told police he was unable to stop in time and struck the rear of Ziehm’s car.

The driver of the third car, Timothy Campbell, 34, of 76 Rackleff Street, Portland, was unable to stop and struck the rear of the Farris vehicle.

Farris’ 1986 Plymouth station wagon was demolished, and damage was estimated at $3,000 to the rear of Ziehm’s 2003 Ford Focus, and at $7,000 to the front of Campbell’s 2005 Chrysler 300 rental car in the 7 p.m. mishap. The investigation was continuing late Friday night, Sgt. Gagnon said.

Oxford crash injures three

OXFORD – Three people were hurt Friday night when a truck stopped on Route 121 in Welchville village was rear-ended.

James Lamb, 56, of Oxford complained of pain to his head and neck and was taken to Maine Medical Center in Portland, Oxford Patrolman Alan Coffin said. He was still being evaluated in the emergency department at 11:15 p.m. Friday, nursing supervisor Bonnie Smith said.

Coffin said Lamb was a passenger in a pickup driven by Mark Danico, 46, of Waterford, who reportedly refused treatment at the scene.

Danico had stopped on Route 121 to turn left into Dr. Rob’s Garage when his Chevrolet truck was struck by another Chevrolet pickup driven by a 17-year-old girl, Coffin said. She and her 15-year-old passenger suffered facial cuts and were taken to St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center in Lewiston, he said.

Their names and addresses were not released due to their ages and the pending investigation, he said, and therefore their conditions could not be obtained from the hospital.

The truck they were in is owned by Christopher McMahon of Poland, the officer said.

The speed limit on that stretch of the highway is 50 miles per hour.

Route 121 was closed after the accident, which occurred around 4:50 p.m.

Coffin was assisted by fellow Oxford Patrolmen Michael Ward and James Richardson, Oxford Rescue, Oxford Fire Department and a Mechanic Falls police officer.
