Class lunch

MEXICO – Members of the Mexico High School class of 1959 are invited to meet for a luncheon at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 15, at Dick’s Restaurant.

Sharing speaker

RUMFORD – The Widows or Widowers Sharing will meet at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 16, at Rumford United Methodist Church, Linnell Street. Joe Sirois will be the speaker. All widows and widowers are invited.

Trailblazers

MEXICO – The Mexico Trailblazers will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 16, at the Mexico Town Hall.

Mothers to meet

MEXICO – The Mexico Mothers Club will meet at noon Thursday, Nov. 17, at the home of Frances DeFilipp. Diane Stanley will be leader and will conduct a “Cootie” game as a fund-raiser for the club. Members are reminded to bring two small wrapped gifts as prizes.

Holiday dinner

RUMFORD – SeniorsPlus will hold a Thanksgiving dinner at 11:30 a.m. Friday, Nov. 18, at the Rumford Dining Center, 50 Congress St. Menu will include roast turkey, stuffing, potato, gravy, peas and onions, squash, cranberry sauce, dinner roll and impossible pie with choice of coffee, tea or milk.

Cost is $3.50 donation for those 60 and over, their spouses, people with disabilities and volunteers; $5 for those under 60. For reservations or more information, contact Kim at 364-3572.

Recognition

DIXFIELD – The members and friends of the Dixfield Common Baptist Church will hold the third annual thank-you dinner at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 19.

Each year they honor people they feel deserve recognition for contributions to the community that may not otherwise be acknowledged.

This year they are honoring the bus drivers and custodians of SAD 21 and invite them and their families to an evening of food and celebration. No reservations are required, but because seating is limited, they prefer notice of attendance.

Bottle drive

CANTON – A bottle drive will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 19, at the Municipal Building. Proceeds will benefit Cheri Blanchette.

Craft sale

RUMFORD CENTER – A craft and food sale will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 19, at Rumford Grange 115. Tables are available for $7. For more information, call Vicki at 364-2129.

Fun Fall Fair

RUMFORD – The Fun Fall Fair of the Rumford United Methodist Church, Linnell Street, will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 19. Besides the usual baked good, knitted items, crafts, attic treasures and Red Hat items, there will be theme baskets, a silent auction and a pie auction.

Featured will be Mary Pulsifer’s “Flat Stanley Goes to China,” based on her recent visit there. All ages are welcome in the upstairs sanctuary at 9:45 a.m. for that, with a special treat for the children.

Coffee will be served from 9 to 10:45 a.m. Lunch from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. will be chicken on a biscuit with gravy on the side, cranberry sauce, beverage and choice of lemon delight or chocolate delight dessert. Christmas trees may be ordered for later pick up at the home of Bill Hersey.

Benefit dinner

CANTON – A benefit dinner will be held for Cheri Blanchette at noon Sunday, Nov. 20, at the Municipal Building. Menu will include spaghetti and meatballs, salad, garlic bread and homemade desserts. Cost for adults is $6 and children under 12, $3. There will be a raffle and a 50/50 drawing.
